and BEYOND Lecture or Workshop Peter states that unlike the predictions about the turn of the millennium, this event is very real and has to be reckoned with. The Mayans had vast knowledge of the cycles of time – for example: based on the Mayan Calendar, the ruling Aztecs of the 15th century knew the exact date of the arrival of the bearded pale strangers who wore clothes of metal and carried rods that made a sound like thunder and killed at a distance. In fact for years before that predicted date people were becoming so panicky over what was to come that the emperor Montezuma had the great calendar stone of the Mayans covered with mud and displayed a smaller calendar that didn’t prophesy the arrival of the “strangers.” In

the future in light of the different theories of what the Mayan
Calendar date of 2012 means, how we can prepare for this event
of 2012, and what we can expect in the next four years and beyond.
